Your pets are definitely precious cargo, but that doesn’t mean you want them tossed into cargo when flying. If your furry friend has his own frequent flyer account, check out Pet Airways, soon to be traveling through major cities such as New York, Washington DC, Chicago, Denver and Los Angeles.
For $149 your pet will fly in the main cabin of the 20 – 40 passenger planes that have been stripped of their “human” furnishings; like seats and overhead bins. Pets or playfully dubbed “pawsengers,” are placed in their private carriers that are securely fastened to the plane.
While an official launch date has not been set, Pet Airways hopes to be flying this summer. To stay updated, visit the company’s blog, that offers tips, advice and a list of the country’s most dog-friendly cities. Your jet-set pet will thank you.
