Lately, we’ve been a bit hard on TSA agents and other travel industry workers. To be fair, we thought it best to dish some dirt on the ridiculous behavior displayed by travelers.
The Telegraph recently posted several amusing articles highlighting such foolish behavior. 20 Ridiculous Complaints Made by Holidaymakers, as told to their travel agents, is a great place to start:
- One unhappy beach goer complained: “The beach was too sandy.”
- A bright British traveler was unhappy that it took him ”nine hours to fly home from Jamaica to England it only took the Americans three hours to get home.”
- Another jet setter was quite unhappy to discover that every restaurant in India served curry, stating, “I don’t like spicy food.”
Another Telgraph article features 20 Stupid Questions Asked by Tourists:
- One lover of lakes wondered, “Are there any lakes in the Lake District?”
- While visiting Windsor Castle, this tourist thought the British were quite foolish to have “built the castle on the flight path to Heathrow [airport].”
- A fashion conscious traveler wanted to be sure she was dressed to kill when she asked “Can I wear high heels in Australia?”
So while some TSA agents can be diffcult to deal with or down right rude, how would you feel about the general public if you were asked insightful questions such as which bus to take from one island to another?

Remember the word stupid is a dirty word. Some parents wash their children’s mouths out with soap. Tourists are uninformed and need to directed to the nearest information desk if TSA does not have the answer in a courteous manner. Serving the public is part of the job. I hope they do it with humility and integrity.
You’re right Rochelle. See updated title ; )
