Planning on taking a trip and you’re not sure how to pack for it? Well, here are some tips that will help make packing much easier. Be sure to plan ahead of time so you know what you might need on your trip. Make sure you do not over pack!
Wrinkle-free:
- Pack less. If you over pack, jamming things in will only cause wrinkles.
- Use pack-it folders. Not only do they help organize, they keep the clothing together and less-wrinkled.
- Or just square fold your clothing in neat piles.
- Tightly ROLL your clothing, this also creates more space in your suitcase.
- If your suitcase includes a garment sleeve, use it! They help secure clothing and allow for minimal wrinkles.
Get Organized:
- Make a list of things that you will need
- Do some research on the weather forecast. It may not always be right, but if the weather is calling for 85 degrees and up, you’re not going to need a jacket or warm/bulky clothing. Maybe just one light long-sleeve shirt/light weight jacket.
- Pack-it accessories will help you organize. You can keep your shirts together, your pants/slacks together and even your pj’s/workout clothing together.
- Pack-it cubes are also good to secure rolled clothing, or keep socks and undergarments in.
- Pack-it folders will secure your square folded shirts/pants together
- Shoe bags help keep your suitcase clean but you can also put socks/accessories inside of your shoes to use the extra space.
- Know the TSA restrictions and what you can and can’t pack.
Packing Light:
- Besides choosing light weight luggage, there are other steps that will help lighten your load.
- Color coordinate your accessories to match everything you packed, there is no need for different color accessories each day.
- Wear your bulky clothing on the plane, to eliminate the heavy weight
- Pack smaller shoes such as sandals and flip flops and wear your sneakers or heavier dress shoes.
- Don’t pack books/magazines, you can buy them at the airport.
- Don’t pack hairdryers/irons because most hotels have them, even if you have to ask.
