If you’re anything like me, you don’t go anywhere without your camera and your iPod. They rank right up there with air as core essentials to my being. That being said, I needed a bag I could transport them in that was lightweight and comfortable enough to carry daily; yet spacious enough to hold all of my gadgets. After careful consideration, I chose the Baggallini Messenger Bag. I couldn’t be happier with my decision (and this means a lot coming from a fussbudget like me). The mono- strap is super comfortable and places the bag to the side and out of my way. And while not being terribly large and cumbersome, the bag is spacious enough that I can store my Canon Digital Rebel XT SLR camera inside while still in its case. In addition, there is ample space in the front pockets for my iPod, wallet, keys and whatever else I need for the day’s journey. I use this bag regularly on trips in and out of the city.

Need a duffel with lots of space, but want something lightweight? The Yuzu Large Duffel is the perfect answer! This bag has 2 main compartments with tons of room so the packer can separate shoes from clothes, or dirty from clean clothes. It also has a small zip pocket on the front for last minute accessories. I use this bag all the time and it never gets dirty. It also comes in many great colors. This is the best large lightweight duffel out there!

Perfect For:

The Yuzu Large Duffel would be perfect for college students’ weekend trips home or visiting friends. It is also perfect for a weekend at the shore. This is my main weekend trip bag. I can fit everything I need in it and then I only have to bring one bag!

Toddlers/Pre-School:

• Always Bring One Extra Outfit…because you just never know.
• Use gum or chewy candy (ex: gummy worms/bears) for older children and mints for younger children to chew during take off and landing for the pressure in their ears
• Recommend not bringing your child’s favorite toys on plane just in case they get lost.
• SURPRISE: Fill up a bag of goodies from the $ store.  Don’t let the children see or play with them until you are on the plane.
  • It will keep their interest because it’s new and different.
  • You could even wrap the toys to “buy” you a little more time.
  • If you forget any of these on the plane, don’t worry it was only a $1.
• What to Buy:
  • Stickers, crayons, coloring books, play-doh, party favors, bubbles, silly putty, etc…(things to keep hands busy).
  • But don’t buy toys that make noise…your seatmates will hate you!

Babies/Infants:

• While taking off and landing give the baby a pacifier, bottle or nurse them and this should elevate any ear pressure problems that may occur.
• With very young infants do take the time to get on the plane early and get settled.
• Ask for the bulk head.  You will want/need the extra leg room.  Some airlines do have bassinets that can be secured to the wall (international).
• Mothers tend to over pack, but unless your baby spits up a lot or makes messes in their diaper often, don’t pack more than necessary!  It will take up too much space and you will be the one who needs to carry it around.
• An Extra outfit and onesies in your diaper bag should do the trick along with what you normally pack.
• Babybjorn/slings will be your best friend…they will keep your baby close and your hands free!

The Eagle Creek Centerline Load Warrior 25″ is the ultimate answer for the lightest and most durable luggage.  This luggage packs like an upright but is lightweight like a duffel.  At just over 7 lbs, this upright will hold all of your packing needs and stay within the 50 lb weight limit.  Our family takes many ski trips, this bag holds all our ski-wear and still remains within the weight limit… unbelievable!  The Centerline Load Warrior comes in a variety of sizes for all your travel needs but I personally find that the 25″ is the perfect size for a week’s vacation.

Perfect For

Anyone who is looking for the lightest weight luggage that will hold up to the rigors of airline bag handlers.  With its’ two tone color palette, it is very easy to spot on the airline carousel.

Favorite Feature

This bag is amazingly durable, considering how lightweight it is.  Our family is not exactly delicate with our luggage and this bag takes a beating from us and the airlines but still comes out looking great.

Drawbacks

The only drawback might be the lack of interior pockets.  However, if it had these pockets then it wouldn’t be as lightweight.

Bottom Line:

This luggage may be a bit pricier than some of the competitors but no one can compete with the weight and durability of this Centerline Load Warrior.  It has been the best investment for my family.  When my kids go off to camp, they will be getting their own Eagle Creek luggage.  I’m keeping mine!
