As quick as Spirit Airlines $10 “web convenience fee” came, it went! Finally, maybe someone realized this is not a fee worth paying. Maybe too many customers were complaining (and some really helpful blogs spread it to their attention). Without this fee, now it’s actually worth ordering your ticket and checking your bag online. Sounds like I would be ordering my ticket online to save $20 roundtrip on my checked luggage.

Spirit Airlines has the maturity level of a 14 year old boy when it comes to marketing. Spirit’s had an animated ad on their site yesterday stating “We’re having a quickie!” that went on to explain the sale details. Anyone who’s been paying attention knows that this isn’t exactly a new tactic for them… they’ve been known to have threesomes and MILF sales.
Fun sense of humor or sad gimmic?

The list of airlines charging fees, just continues to grow. Spirit Airlines is now charging a $10 fee for ordering roudtrip tickets online.
It’s not worth it if you’re carrying your luggage on, but if you’re checking a bag, it’s still $10 cheaper (roundtrip) to do it online, even with the fee. Visit our fees page for an extensive list of airline fees.
