Well it seems as though Tumi is always doing their best to come up with new and exciting collections.  Believe it or not, luggage can be pretty exciting and I think Tumi has done just that with their introduction of the new T-Tech Adventure Collection.

One of Tumi’s newest is the T-Tech Adventure Collection.  T-Tech Adventure is full of bright colors and the name says it all with the adventurous styles and designs that went into this collection.  The entire collection is made from Tumi’s exclusive X-Tech fabric, which is extremely durable, abrasion resistant and soft to the touch! Oooohhh you might just have to get one of these new bags!

Tumi has even created a new informational website, designated to the T-Tech label only.  This website explains all of the collections under the T-Tech label.  The new outdoorsy yet urban look of T-Tech separates itself from the oh so modern classic iconic style of Tumi.  Judge for yourselves!

The Rough and Tumbler test, which entailed filling carry-on suitcases until they weighed 20-25 lbs and tumbling them up to 1,000 times, is among one of the tests done by Consumer Reports. The tests determined which of 12 brand suitcases were the toughest of travelers.  The report was quite interesting and you can see the chart to the left of what was found in terms of durability, capacity and convenience. 

The bottom line is, Tumi was rated best overall with more room than most brands! Highest in quality and price, the Tumi Alpha 22″ Carry-On costs $595.  It was also determined that there are other brands that cost less and are still good quality but didn’t perform as well in every test category.  It comes down to your preference and price range as to what bag is perfect for your needs. So don’t overlook the Victorinox NXT, Hartmann Stratum and Briggs & Riley Baseline or any of the other top carry-ons!

One of Tumi’s newest collections is the Tumi T-Tech Polycarbonate and it’s all the rage!  Tumi uses a PC Plus polycarbonate, which is triple layered to provide great durablity.  These new cases are not only strong and sleek but they are lightweight and we all know how important lightweight is these day.  Especially since we don’t want to pay any overweight charges for our luggage.  This Tumi collection is reasonably priced from $375 to $495.  On top of all the great features, it has great organization as well!

I can’t live without my messenger bag. I’m not really one of those girly-girls who has a handbag to match every outfit. It’s not that I’m not a fan of having a cute purse, but for every day use I prefer something large with a long, comfortable strap. And I need something that’s going to carry everything. I mean EVERYTHING—my sketchbook, my lunch, an umbrella, a hard cover copy of the latest sword of truth novel—the whole kit-and-caboodle. And a tote just doesn’t cut it either. Hello, it rains! I need something that closes up and keeps my novels and artwork safe. That’s why I love that this bag is water resistant. Not to mention, I’ve got art supplies out the wazoo, so I need something with compartments. Something the T-Tech Flow Slim Messenger is in no short supply of. Its small flap pocket on the front, the mesh compartment inside (great for storing my pencil box, and all the various loose crap I tend to carry and don’t need at the ready. I’m also a fan of the open back pocket which is great for stashing that last minute item I forgot to grab earlier.

Personally, I use this bag as my purse/briefcase/lifeline… and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a durable, light, versatile bag for everyday use that will last. It’s great for students or professionals… or anyone who needs a compartmental bag for whatever their hobbies may be.

Favorite Feature

The magnetic flap closure. As a cat owner, this is feature I couldn’t live without. My old messenger bag had these ugly, clunky velcro straps and as a result I used to spend the entire commute to work picking fur out of them. Ew. [Read more →]
